What is Love?
Love is a term too often used and is gradually losing its meaning. If God says he is love in 1 John 4:8, then we must take this concept seriously. In ancient Hebrew, we are given two letters/characters which are Hey and Bet. They together represent “look to the house” or “provide for the family.” This can be seen as giving. If you love someone, you will provide or give to them. “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son” (John 3:16). We can also take this understanding and apply it to God’s family and house. In order to show God we love him, we must give him our time, resources, and be in agreement with his purpose for our life. What has the Father asked you to give him?
