To Fast is to Wither Away...
On the subject of fruit, we approach the topic of fasting. To fast! Fasting is coming to the point of nothing and the Father taking over and possessing all that you are. To fast is to wither or the person that is in search of water. We are given Tsade and Mem; these two Hebrew letters give us the picture of a person in search of water. I am reminded of Jesus telling the woman at the well, that if she would only drink the water that he provided, she would never thirst again. To fast is not only covering the mouth, depriving oneself of food and drink, or caloric restriction, but searching for that which is spiritual. Let us be more specific, for there are a lot of spirits. When we fast, we must search for the perfect will of the Father for our lives and pray it to be manifested. As in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. Here we have the dandelion, a complex herb many call a weed, hiding the Glory of God. Notice how as it dies, it becomes white and produces a seed that is sent far and wide. When the world counts something as without worth, pay heed, for the Father is speaking. This simple weed is the revelation that when we die to ourselves, we produce the seed of God, called Yahshua, not only planting the Seed of God for ourselves but for all those we are sent to. Plants hold so much revelation...In botany, plants germinate by having the endosperm willingly die, so that the life of the seed and embryo is given life. A derived root of fasting in Ancient Hebrew comes from the word to wither which is represented by the three letters Tsade, Nun, and Mem. Let me tell you that there is nothing healthy about withering away, but we are not carnal, our life is not in the flesh but in the spirit. It is written that the same Spirit that rose Christ from that dead dwelleth in you (Romans 6:10-11). As we fast, we are choosing to be crucified with Christ, no longer living for ourselves, but for the will of the Father. I always take note of how much more I speak to the Father when I am fasting, not putting food and drink in my mouth. I must decrease and Yahshua must increase. In my weakness, Yahshua is made strong. The Father is saying, "As you decrease, I am increasing in you!"
