The Price of Offence
In this day and age many feel the need to be offended. Some might go as far as saying they have a right and are entitled to offense if they do not agree or like something. Yahshua said in Matthew 11:6 "Blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me." Yahshua is stating that we are blessed when we are not offended. The price of offence can cost us greatly. The word "Offence" is Strong's H4383 Mikshol. It is comprised of the letters Kaf (Hand), Chet (Wall/Separation), and Lamed (Staff/Shepherd/Instruction). When we are in offence, we are automatically allowing "A hand to separate us from the Shepherd's staff and instruction." Who is the Good Shepherd? Yahshua is the Good Shepherd. We would be wise to guard our hearts from anything that would cause offence or unforgiveness. Notice that when we become offended by something or someone, that we have already made an accusation in our hearts. If we continue to walk in offence, we continue to walk as an Accuser. May we pay careful attention to not become an accuser of the brethen. Satan is referenced in Revelation 12:10 as "The Accuser of the Brethen." You may be asking what is so bad about being offended and making accusations. The next "Pearl" addresses the Office of Accuser and how it is the adversary to the plan of salvation.
