Forgiveness = Golden Standard
Whether you have stepped foot in a church or not, you may have heard of the power of forgiveness. There are many definitions for the word "forgive." The majority of definitions involve covering an offense and not taking revenge. There cannot be forgiveness without an offense. The power of reconciliation involves forgiving and carrying an offense. The word "forgive" is Strong's H5127. It is related to the words standard, pardon, lift, refuge, test, chief, vehicle, and respect. Isaiah 59:19 states, "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." This standard is the person that can walk in forgiveness, endure any test, and carry the burden of the Lord. The root symbols in Ancient Hebrew for "forgiveness" and "standard" are Nun (Seed/Word) and Samekh (Thorn/Rod). Those that are the Seed and Word of God will endure test after test and face a multitude of offenses. God has built his entire kingdom on the concept of FORGIVENESS. Remember that every time someone does something that rubs you the wrong way, this is an opportunity to forgive that person and allow Christ in you to be lifted up and manifested. Take a close look at any Son of God and how they went through attacks that seemed impossible to withstand. They chose to forgive their attackers and God brought miraculous change through them. We will be the chief STANDARD God is raising up if we choose to walk in forgiveness daily.
