A Righteous Judge
We are biblically taught to NOT know the man after the flesh and to judge not, lest we be judged. However, 1 Corinthians 2:15 states "he that is spiritual judgeth all things." How should we judge all things? To answer that, I turn to John 4:17, "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgement." If a judgment is to be made, let it be done according to the spirit and not according to the letter, which is knowing and seeing in the natural.
In this 2 part study, we will be looking at what it means to have righteous judgement. The word "Righteous" in ancient Hebrew is formed from the letters Shin and Resh, combined they mean "press the head" and "press the beginning." Allow me to address pressing the head 1st, this means to crush a fruit or shell, enabling the seed to be removed to grow and multiply. When we declare "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus," we are saying that we have died to ourselves and are producing/manifesting the Seed of God!
Now let us move to "press the beginning." Think of pressing into the beginning, what was the plan from the beginning. The Lamb of God was slain from the beginning, the plan of Salvation was written from the beginning, we were with God from the beginning. We must remember who we were/are from the beginning. Remember God's plan from the beginning and our specific purpose in Him. The "Right" plan has never changed, it was written from the beginning. May we press into God's plan from the beginning:)
Now on to Judgement, if we are to Judge, let it be in righteousness. However before we go on a mission of righteous judgement, let's look at what judgement means. Judgment in ancient Hebrew is spelt with the letters Dalet and Nun. Together they create the picture of a "Door of Life" or "Way of Life." The Judges in the Old Testament were given the task of showing the people the error of their ways and putting them back on the path of life. A biblical Judge was commissioned to restore life and to point to the Way, Truth, and Life which is Jesus Christ. I will take this further and say we have become one with Christ, we have become the Way, Truth, and Life. We are righteous judgment. The church sees itself as separate from Christ and not worthy, but it is written "As HE (Jesus) is, so are WE in this life" 1 John 4:17. Though we are one with Christ and Judge all things. It is the Spirit of God in us that brings this Righteous Judgement. It is not our flesh that carries the Judgement out, for Judge means to be a "Door of Life." We are that Door of Righteous Judgement, purposed in seeing that God's creation receives and manifests LIFE.
In conclusion, where we have righteous judgment, we have the Seed of God being broken open to sprout and manifest. As it grows, judgment guides it along the Way, Truth, and Life. A Righteous Judge is focused on manifesting JESUS and seeing JESUS manifest in all of God's creation. So to reiterate, it is the Spirit of God that does all these things. As we spend time with the Father, allow him to manifest the Life that he wants to see in the Earth through you. Amen.
